THE DEMON CALLED DEFILEMENT

Defilement is a very serious subject in the Bible. Although it is not much spoken of today, but it remains one of the serious issues ever raised by God.

Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he will not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself.”

Daniel understood the tragedy of defilement, so, he made up his mind that he would not defile himself. Four Hebrews boys, Daniel inclusive, were captured from the land of Israel and take to Babylon. They could have said, “No one can see us in this foreign land, so let us drink their wine and eat their food.” The truth about Babylon as a nation is that all the food and wine served in the king’s palace were first dedicated to the Babylonian idols. Daniel knew that if he ate the food, he would be defiled. Remember, it was food that defiles Esau’s destiny. A man like Esau who can not close his eyes away from food, will have his/her life defiled.

The four boys were put in a good Babylonian university to be trained for use in the king’s palace. But Daniel made up his mind that he would stay pure. These boys were under pressure to copy Babylonian lifestyle, talk, walk, dress and think like them, but they refused. They wanted to remain pure. Sometimes, we find ourselves under pressure to “Fit-in” at times; the “fitting-in” caused us many troubles. It is true that in life nobody want to be a misfit, but sometimes trying not to be a misfit can be very bad. Note that, Eagles do not fly in flocks. They fly separately. Even then, it is not easy to be alone ranger. But the Bible makes us to understand that we are peculiar people, a holy nation, and so must remain pure.

The Babylonian put so much pressure on these boys and when they saw their reluctance to comply, they decided to change their names, why? Because it is natural for a thing to react by whatever name it’s called. Don’t let people change your name. When God want to bring His promises to bear upon Abram, a new name was given- also to Sarah.

HANANIAH means- The Lord is gracious. He was given Shadrach meaning commander of Arku. Arku is an idol in Babylon.

MISHAEL means: who is like God? He was given Meshach meaning who is like Arku

AZARIAH means: the Lord has helped me. He was given Abednego. Abednego is an idol in Babylon.

DANIEL means: God my Judge. He was given Belteshazzar meaning may the idol Balak protect them.

But Daniel retains his personality; that since he was born Daniel, he would die a Daniel. Apparently, the same Daniel received many of the powerful revelation in his days concerning the end of time.

Defilement is a serious issue. We suffer so many evil today as a result of defilement. The land we are living in is a neutral body, it has no problem. It is human beings that pollute and defiles the land.

Lev.18:27-28 “For all these abomination has the men of the land done, which were before you and the land is defiled…”

When men continue to defile a land, a time would come when the land would spit them out. Many people do not understand this. Number35:34 “Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit….”

When a man is doing business and does not pay his tithes, he is defiling the business. And before long, he begins to experience difficulties, in his business and finances. From the scripture alone, we see, that every human being is potential polluter of land. A prophet once said these to me, that, “Human beings are contagious” You can defile your farmland, garden, house, business and any other things you lay your hand upon, if you’re not careful. You can pollute the land by act of wickedness. *Jeremiah 3:2.

WHAT IS DEFILEMENT

Defilement is violation, destruction, discretion, abuse, ruin, damage or harm. The body, the spirit, and soul can be defiled. Just like the land can be defiled: Talents, property, children and destiny can be defiled. Anything can suffer defilement. To defile means to violate, abuse, contaminate or corrupt something. It also can mean to deflower, degrade or to make something unclean. To pollute, poison or devalue a thing.

Defile is a serious matter: 2 Corinthians 7:1

You can defile your spirit and flesh. Tiny dirt inside clean water would defile it and no one would be able to drink it. If you’re defiled, it becomes difficult to be used by God.

Spirit Defilement: it is therefore wrong to misuse your body. It is the temple of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.

Idolatry: can defile a man. Idolatry would bring your soul under defilement and bondage of Satan. 2Cor. 6:16.

Soul Defilement e.g. Occultism involvement 1Cor.6:15-16.

Body Defilement- The implication is, if you sleep with a man or woman that is a witch or wizard you would immediately become a witch or wizard. In this case, you are not only having sex, you’re also sharing in the demons of your partner. 1Cor.16:16-19.

Sex also will defile your body.

DANGER OF DEFILEMENT

It chases away good things from people and this has hindered so many people from being blessed. Some people pray hot prayers and their problems seem to multiply. Some would do multiple deliverance, but no breakthrough. Some have good (positive) dreams with negative results. Therefore, defilement has caused some much trouble.


1. Following the way of the unbelievers and copying of their lifestyle. (Leviticus 18: 24)
2. Seeking after wizard and powers of darkness e.g. Herbalist or traditional medicine. (Leviticus19:31)
3. Abortion (Leviticus20:3)
4. Making and serving idols (Ezekiel 20:17)
5. Shedding blood (Is.59:3)
6. Polluted Food (1Cor.10:20)
7. The uncontrollable mouth (James 3:6)
8. Death
9 Evil utterances
10 Pouring fasces and urine on people.
11. Sexual impurities e.g. unlawful sexual intercourse, prostitution, lesbianism, homosexuality, oral and anal sex, rape, lust and pornography, sex with animal etc.
12. Medical Defilement e.g. drug abuse, addiction, use of herbs from questionable sources.
13. Mutilation of the body e.g. tattoo, body piecing, cutting and marking. When you cut your body, you open door of your life to demonic invasion and blood hunters.
14. Cursed materials in the house or in your body


DREAMS THAT DEFILES A DESTINY

1. Nakedness in the dream
2. Seeing or being in the midst of excreta, in a dustbin or locked out of church indicate pollution
3. Wearing rags
4. Sex in the dream
5. Somebody spitting or vomiting on you
6. Ants or boils all over you body
7. Mucus coming out of your body
8. Eating animal which you will not eat normally
9. Drinking dirty water or swimming in a dirty water
10. Eating sand or terrible thing
11. Being attacked by dogs or dogs licking your body
12. Somebody forcefully giving you an injection
13. Giving birth to an animal instead of a baby or breast feeding a strange baby in dreams
14. A strange creature showing you its nakedness.
15. Kissing an unknown partner or getting married
16. Locked up in a toilet with maggot- a smelling place and you cannot get out.
17. Covered with cobwebs.

These kinds of dream are clear indication of defilement of the spirit, soul and body.



WAY OUT OF DEFILEMENT

1. Do spiritual research about yourself.
2. Who are you?
3. Where you come from?
4. What you have involve yourself in.
5. What kind of men or women have you slept with?
6. Examine your various relationships.
7. Are your ways clean or unclean?
8. You need genuine repentance.
9. Forgive those who have offended you.
10. Break every ungodly soul tie.
11. Cast out the evil spirits and effect on your life.
12. Ask God to reverse the consequences of what the enemy has left in your body.
13. Ask God to clean your life.
